I began my career in the arts while living in Hawaii in 1985. I began with Sumi-e, also known as Chinese Brushstroke under the direction of Claudia Suen. My Sumi-e paintings are held in private collections in several countries. I taught Sumi and Gyotaku in Hawaii and Oregon in the public school system, in galleries and as a volunteer in teen shelters. I went on to study pastels, pen and ink, and fiber arts before finding my true passion in beaded jewelry design.
In my unique jewelry designs you will find high quality beads, a variety of gemstones, Swarovski Crystals, silver and gold. I also incorporate local original artisan created lampwork beads into some of my designs. I produce work from the whimsical to the conservative depending on my mood. The process is the important thing and if I just focus on that, the creative experience and having fun, things tend to work out.
I re-discovered my passion for the Fiber Arts several years ago and love to experience different fibers and methods of using them. I am currently involved in a "Flapper Hat" series that has been a great source of enjoyment for me. You will even find some of the more fascinating fibers in my jewelry from time to time.
I occasionally take out the paints and brushes but more often I am found in my home studio in Waterville, Maine creating beautiful one of a kind treasures of the jeweled variety.

To be successful your mind must be on your art, on the ones you love, on your dreams for the future, but certainly not on money (Author unknown)
